Περι Gor ο λόγος

Πόσα θα μπορούσε κανείς να πει για τον Gor, έναν κόσμο ο οποίος είναι φανταστικός μεν, αλλά μέσα στην καρδιά ορισμένων ανθρώπων δε. Εν αρχή λοιπόν ην τα διάφορα βιβλία του συγγραφέα John Norman που αποτελούν τη σειρά “Books of Gor”, 26 στον αριθμό όπου ο συγγραφέας μιλάει για έναν φανταστικό κόσμο ο οποίος βρίσκεται στην απέναντι πλευρά του ήλιου με αποτέλεσμα η Γή να μην τον βλέπει ποτέ και αυτός να μην βλέπει ποτέ τη Γή. Ο συγκεκριμένος κόσμος αυτός διοικείται από κάποιους που ονομάζονται Priest-Kings, οι οποίοι κατά καιρούς κάνουν βόλτα στη Γή για να μαζέψουν κόσμο προκειμένου να πάει στον Gor και να ζήσει εκεί είτε ως ελεύθερος, είτε ως σκλάβος.


Η ταξική θεωρία του Gor είναι οτι οι γυναίκες είναι κατώτερες από τους άντρες, στηρίζεται δε το συγκεκριμένο μέχρι το επίπεδο του σκλάβου (δεν υπάρχουν subs ή switches) κατά το οποίο οι άνδρες σκλάβοι επειδή θεωρούνται οτι έχουν χάσει το δικαίωμα της ελευθερίας τους και αφού ήταν ανώτεροι από μια γυναίκα, θεωρούνται τώρα κατώτεροι από αυτήν. Ο Gor έχει δανειστεί στοιχεία από πάρα πολλούς πολιτισμούς της Γής. Για παράδειγμα το σύστημα καστών που διαθέτει η Ινδία, την ιδέα της πόλης-κράτους που υπήρχε στην Αρχαία Ελλάδα, τη φιλοσοφία που κατά καιρούς αναπτύχθηκε στην Αρχαία Ελλάδα, την τιμή, την υπόληψη και την αγάπη που υπήρχε για την πόλη του στην Αρχαία Ελλάδα και για τη χώρα του στον Μεσαίωνα, την τημή που είχε κάποιος και την προασπιζόταν μέχρι θανάτου, τα σκλαβοπάζαρα αλλά και διάφορα άλλα παραδείγματα τα οποία είναι καλύτερο όσοι πιστοί επιθυμούν να τα διαβάσουν και να τα ανακαλύψουν μέσα από την εξερεύνηση στα διάφορα βιβλία.


Είναι πολύ δύσκολο να γράψει κάποιος για τον Gor τη στιγμή που έως τώρα έχουν γραφεί 10000+ σελίδες στα βιβλία αυτά. Στο διαδίκτυο μπορούν να βρεθούν πάρα πολλές σελίδες με πληροφορίες και χρειάζεται πολύ κριτική σκέψη καθώς οι περισσότερες από αυτές περιέχουν παραπληροφόρηση και μόνο κακό μπορούν να προκαλέσουν. Το δε lifestyle από μόνο του είναι τόσο ελεύθερο και μεταβλητό όσο και ο κάθε Gorean αλλά πάντα ακολουθούνται κάποιοι βασικοί κανόνες συμπεριφοράς.

Online Gor
Ο διαδικτυακός Gor είναι ίσως ο πιο γνωστός και διαδεδομένος, στηρίζεται σε διάφορους server οι οποίοι μπορεί να είναι είτε τύπου IRC, είτε καθαρά ιδιωτικά μέρη συνομιλιών (π.χ. Yahoo Groups, MSN Groups κλπ.) τα πράγματα είνια αρκετά περίπλοκα και απαιτείται μια προηγούμενη εξοικίωση με τον Gor προκειμένου κάποιος να καταφέρει να συνομιλήσει με κάποιον Gorean αν δε και ο ίδιος δηλώσει Gorean, αλλιώς μπορεί να δηλώσει οτι θέλει να μάθει και αν βρεθεί κάποιος με όρεξη να του μάθει τουλάχιστον τα βασικά.


Real time Gor
Ο Gor στην πραγματική ζωή είναι ίσως ένα απ’τα πιο δύσκολα πράγματα που μπορεί κάποιος άνθρωπος να εφαρμόσει πάνω στη Γή καθώς η κοινωνική του μορφή είναι πάρα πολύ διαφορετική. Κατ’αρχάς διαφορετικοί νόμοι υπάρχουν στην εκάστοτε πόλη-κράτος του Gor, και διαφορετικοί πάνω στη Γη, αλλά αυτό δε σημαίνει οτι δε θα μπορούσε κάποιος να ζήσει τα περισσότερα στοιχεία του Gorπάνω στη Γή βγάζοντας αυτά τα οποία ο κόσμος θα θεωρήσει το λιγότερο περίεργα...

Hunters of Gor (1974), 1980 Star paperback edition. 363 pagesGor, the Counter-Earth, is the alternate-world setting for John Norman's "Chronicles of Gor," a series of 26 novels that combine philosophy, erotica and science fiction.

Summary
Gor is an intricately detailed world in terms of flora, fauna, and customs. John Norman — pen-name of Dr. John Lange, a professor of Philosophy and a classical scholar — often delights in ethnography, populating his planet with the equivalents of Roman, Greek, Native American, Viking, and other cultures. The Gorean humans have advanced architectural and medical skills (including life extension), but remain primitive in the fields of transportation and weaponry (at approximately the level of Classical Mediterranean civilization) due to restrictions on technology imposed by a shadowy insectoid ruling species, the "Priest-Kings", who brutally suppress technology beyond a certain point.

The planet Gor has lower gravity than earth's (which allows for the existence of large flying creatures, and tall towers connected by aerial bridges in the cities), and would have an even lower gravity if not for the technology of the Priest-Kings. The known geography of Gor consists mainly of the western seaboard of a continent which runs from the arctic in the north to south of the equator, with the Thassa Ocean to the west, and the Voltai mountain range forming an eastern boundary at many latitudes. There are also offshore islands in the ocean, and some relatively sparsely-settled plains to the east of the Voltai. The word "Gor" itself means home stone in the Gorean language (the native language of the city-states in the northern temperate region, and a widely-spoken lingua franca in many other areas).

Most of the novels in the series are action adventures, with many of the military engagements borrowing liberally from historic ones, such as the trireme battles of ancient Greece and the castle sieges of medieval Europe. Ar, a Rome-like city in which several of the novels are set, maintains a "margin of desolation" similar to that of Mesopotamia's Gu-Edin.

The series is a planetary romance and the first book, "Tarnsman of Gor," opens with some scenes very reminiscent of the first book of the Barsoom series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, who helped create the genre; both feature the protagonist narrating his adventures after being magically transported to another world. These parallels end after the first few books, when the stories of the books begin to be structured along a loose plot arc involving the struggles of the city-state of Ar and the island of Cos to control the Vosk river area, as well as the struggles at a higher level between non-human Priest-Kings and Kurii (see below) to control the whole planet.

On Gor, men are the rulers and women are sometimes chattel; their interactions often feature what some consider the machismic stereotypes of Gorean society. This has led many to regard the works as blatantly misogynistic, since the societies of Gor have a balance of power which strongly favors men, and most of the time the narrators of the books support these social arrangements. Criticisms have also been levelled at Norman's prose, which is often fraught with unnecessary diction and stilted dialogue, and a fondness for certain dubious forms such as "muchly", "unoften", or the word "modality" used as a synonym for "role". Passages — especially in books later in the series, when the protagonist begins to assimilate into Gorean society — occasionally veer off into philosophical tangents lampooning feminism and liberalism at length.

Norman has allegedly completed a 27th Gor book, Prize of Gor, which has yet to be printed.

General notes
Most of the books are narrated by transplanted British professor Tarl Cabot, master swordsman and possibly Norman's alter-ego, as he engages in adventures involving Priest-Kings, Kurii, and humans alike. Books 7, 11, 19, 22, and 26 are narrated by abducted Earth women who are made slaves. Books 14 to 16 are narrated by male abductee (and initially slave) Jason Marshall.

The series features several sentient alien races. The most important to the books are the insectoid Priest-Kings and the huge sharp-clawed predatory Kurii, both space-farers from foreign star systems. The Priest-Kings rule Gor as somewhat disinterested custodians, leaving humans to their own affairs as long as they abide by certain restrictions on technology. The Kurii are an aggressive, invasive race with advanced technology (but less so than that of the Priest-Kings) who wish to colonize Gor and Earth. The power of the Priest-Kings is diminished after the "Nest War" described in the third book, and for the most part, Priest-Kings and Kurii struggle against each other only by proxy, through their respective human agents and spies. Some critics have commented that these antipoles — the dispassionate, ultra-rationalist Priest-Kings who find little joy in existence and the Kurii who simply follow their savage instincts and kill in their lack of reflection — are an allegorical appeal to moderate human behavior.

Norman reputedly began the series after wagering that he could write a sword-and-sorcery novel that would sell successfully. Early entries in the series were simple plot-driven space opera adventures, with later entries growing more heavily philosophical and sexual.

Influences
Many historical cultures of Earth are reflected in the novels of Gor. Although the Greco-Roman is the most often noted of these, this is not the only society tweaked and presented on Gor by John Norman. If you are familar with Earth's history, you will notice many similarities to some historical civilizations in various regions of Gor (explained in the books by early "voyages of acquisition" which the Priest-Kings undertook in order to populate Gor with humans taken from different parts of earth).

The majority of "known Gor", as the Vosk river region in the temperate north of the continent is often referred to, is reminiscent of ancient Greco-Roman city-states in many respects (aside from the delta city of Port Kar, which is a more anarchic and piratical version of Venice). The most common dating system is Contasta Ar, or years since the founding of Ar (similar to ab urbe condita), and the Viktel Aria road leading to Ar is analogous to the Appian way. In Gor's Torvaldsland, you might think you'd encountered Earth's Vikings. The "Red Savage" peoples of the Barrens are populated with a culture perhaps based upon the Great Plains of North America. The "Wagon Peoples" seem similar to the Mongols, the Alars to Eastern Europe's gypsies. The peoples of the Tahari desert correlate to the nomads of Arabia, the Gorean regions around Schendi to Amazon or Congo River valley populations. The peoples of far north Gor, or the "Red Hunters" as Norman sometimes referred to them, are clearly Inuit — in this case to the point of referring to them as such.

Κουβέντιαζα με ένα φίλο μου που η κοπέλα του πήγε και αγόρασε ένα από αυτά τα παιχνίδια σε ντιβιντι . Λέω και εγώ πάλι καλά θεωρητικά θα ανεβούνε οι πωλήσεις αφού αγοράζουνε και οι γκόμενες αλλά είχα κάνει λάθος μεγάλο .
Τι ανακάλυψα : αμα γυρίσεις το ντιβιντι ανάποδα είναι καθρεφτάκι βάφονται μεικ απ βάζουν.

Δεν πάμε καλά έτσι . Και θέλω να ζητήσω συγνώμη από τον μαστερ Σπίλερ γιατί δεν είχα πιάσει το βαθύτερο νόημα του γκορ .

 

Χάινριχ αν και είμαι σίγουρος οτι το πραγματικό νόημα του role playing σου διαφεύγει, μην μπερδεύεις το Gorean lifestyle με τα κοινά rpgs όπως αυτά της Blizzard, ή της Wizard of The Coast. To Gorean lifestyle δεν περνάει ποτέ του κρίση, είναι κάτι το οποίο ουδέποτε θα απασχολήσει κάποιους που δεν ενδιαφέρονται πραγματικά να μάθουν ή δεν έχουν την τάση της εξερεύνησης. Όχι, το να εξερευνάς τα όρια του πόνου ενός ανθρώπου δεν είναι μέρος του gorean lifestyle Χάινριχ...

Σχετικά με τις πανοπλίες κλπ. που αναφέρθηκες απλά εγώ είπα ορισμένες από τις κάστες που υπάρχουν στον Gor. Το αν εσύ τα πιστεύεις ή τα ασπάζεσαι δε με ενδιαφέρει και κυρίως δε με απασχολεί.

Θα παρακαλέσω λοιπόν τον οποιονδήποτε θελήσει να διακωμοδίσει τον διαφορετικό τρόπο ζωής να το ξανασκεφτεί και να μην ασχοληθεί μαζί του καθώς ούτε εμείς θέλουμε να ασχολούμαστε μαζί σας, ούτε εσείς με εμάς. Όποιος θέλει να ασχοληθεί μπορεί να ρωτήσει εδώ ελεύθερα. Σχόλια και λοιπές εξυπνάδες θα ήθελα να εκλείψουν.

εγω θα ηθελα να ρωτησω κατι......
πανοπλια καλη απο που μπορω να αγορασω γιατι οσες εχω δει μεχρι τωρα δεν μου αρεσαν!!

και για να σοβαρευτουμε λιγακι... μην ''προβατοποιηστε'' σε τετοιου ειδους παιχνιδια κερδους.. καποιοι σας βαζουν να το κανετε ασχετα αμα δεν το καταλαβαινετε!
ο καθε ανθρωπος εχει δικη του προσωπικοτητα και δεν χρειαζετε να γινετε πιονι κανενος ακομα και μεσα στο BDSM.... (Αλλο εκμεταλευση και αλλο απελευθερωση συναισθηματων..)

 

Μα κανένας δεν είπε ποτέ Kits οτι το Gorean lifestyle είναι εκμετάλευση, το αντίθετο μάλλον θα έλεγα, ως φιλοσοφία το gorean lifestyle υποστηρίζει την απελευθέρωση των συναισθημάτων των ανθρώπων που το ακολουθούν.

για πιο λογο ομως??? δηλαδη για να απελευθερωσει καποιος τα συναισθηματα του πρεπει να ασπαστει το gorean lifestyle???
κατι δεν μου αρεσει εδω.... γιατι να φτιαξει καποιος κατι που εμμεσα ελεγχει ανθρωπους?

 

Αγαπητέ Kits δε σημαίνει απαραίτητα αυτό που λες, απλά αυτό είναι μία απ'τις βασικές του αρχές και διαφορές... μην ξεχνάς άλλωστε οτι πρόκειτε για μια σειρά νουβελών που πολλά στοιχεία τους έχουν μεταφερθεί από ορισμένους στην πραγματική ζωή.
