    My name is Alice

    Poem by the Pagan Writer

My battle with depression using Alice in wonderland

    My name is Alice

My name is Alice and I leave in two different worlds.
One is full of darkness where no light can shine.
Filled with hate that seems to make everything grayed and decayed.
Where my body always seems to stay cold with no chance of warmth.
Life always seems to stay quiet still,
where not even the smallest creatures stirs.
And the other seems to be something from a daydream.
Where things seems to be more than they appear to be.
I feel no fear and I feel no pain.
    Nothing here can harm me.
Colors so moving, a world so enchanted.
The world that a person comes to but never want to leave,
    A place named Wonderland...

I must destroy the darkness that calls itself the Jabberwocky.
I with my mighty Volpal sword I face the vast creature.
In one foul swoop I say "Off with your Head mighty Jabberwocky"

My name is Alice and I have defeated the Jabberwocky.

My name is Alice and I have defeated the darkness.

    I, Alice have saved Wonderland.

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense
Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't
I invite you to a world where there is no such thing as time
And every creature lens themselves to change your state of mind
And the girl that chase the rabbit drank the wine and took the pill
Has locked herself in limbo to see how it truly feels
    To stand outside your virtue
No one can ever hurt you
    Or so they say
    Her name is Alice (Alice)
    She crawls into the window
    Shaped in shadows
    Alice (Alice)
And even though she is dreaming, she knows
Sometimes the curiosity can kill the soul but leave the pain
And every ounce of innocence is left inside her brain
And through the looking glass we see she's thankfully returned
But now off with her head I fear is everyone's concern
You see there's no real ending
    It's only the beginning
    Come out and play
    Her name…

    Alice's poem

    By Lewis Carroll, 1872

A boat, beneath a sunny sky
    Lingering onward dreamily
    In an evening of July--
    Children three that nestle near,
    Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear--
Long has paled that sunny sky:
    Echoes fade and memories die:
    Autumn frosts have slain July.
    Still she haunts me, phantomwise.
    Alice moving under skies
    Never seen by waking eyes.
Children yet, the tale to hear,
    Eager eye and willing ear,
    Lovingly shall nestle near.
    In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
    Dreaming as the summers die:
    Ever drifting down the stream--
    Lingering in the golden gleam--
Life, what is it but a dream?

The poem's an acrostic riddle: the first letter of each line spells out Alice Pleasance Liddell

    Her name was Alice

    -The dream song-

    I once knew a girl,

    With golden locks and pearls,

She didn’t wish for a prince and a palace,

Maybe you knew her- her name was Alice.

There were nights when she would hide under her sheets,

From the things that may bite and defeat.

She was scared to death from that lurid creatures

And constantly imagined their ugly features.

One day she realized her mamma was wrong,

About those things she once mentioned in a song.

    Monsters don’t lurk under our beds;

Instead they hide inside our heads.

    Alice lost herself

    Somewhere along the way

    in Wonderland.

    She looked over the rand

Her legs were dangling off the edge,

    And she fell

    Down

    The

    Rabbit

    Hole.

    Bumped her head,

    And crashed her soul.

    She was ripped apart

    Limb by limb;

    Her body was fragile,

    Her heart was caving in.

    Her mind was dark,

    She lost her spark.

Her soul was empty and hollow,

She didn’t have a clear goal to follow.

I can still remember the way she spoke,

Under the layer of thick cigarette smoke.

And I’ll never find a way to shake off a memory

    Of her words combined

    there were like a melody.

Her eyes were a place where her demons used to hide,

So she wouldn’t let a few glances slide.

    Her thoughts would travel a mile;

    They were everything but kind.

But she masked all that with a Cheshire cat smile.

Her heart was aching for rock ’n ’roll

Because only music would make her feel whole.

She smelled of cigarettes and sadness.

That only showed bits of her madness.

I remember her look all too well,

    Her body was her shell

    Her very own hell.

    She felt trapped inside

In her body which had died.

    Skinny wrists,

    Scarred thighs,

    Blue eyes,

    And silent cries.

She would look in the mirror,

And not like what she saw.

She would examine her every flaw.

    Chapped lips,

    Small hips,

    Bloody wrists.

    There she was in the middle of the night;

    Trying to win her fight.

    Her cheeks were getting wet

    As she screamed in dread

    ‘’Mirror, am I pretty yet?”’

    Her town was in drought.

    Soil needed water .

    The days were becoming hotter.

    Alice, a little black flower

    Required rain

    To wash away the pain.

    It came pouring down,

    It was all in vain.

    She was drowning.

    Because both

No rain and too much rain

    Kill the flower.

    Little Alice had too much.

    She was tired,

    but she couldn’t sleep.

    She tried her best,

    but she didn’t succeed.

    The whispers turned to screams,

    And they crashed her dreams.

Her clock was 2 days late.

    She didn’t want to wait.

So she took a midnight train

    Going anywhere.

She didn’t know the bits of glory,

Her life was a modern day story.

She didn’t take a potion which could’ve made her think

Or cake to make her big.

    Little Alice thought too much,

And made herself as mad as such.

    White pills,

    Pale face,

    Tied knot,

    She jumped without a thought.

She wanted to test her wings

And pull a few last strings.

    She jumped to see if she could fly;

    Up high in the sky.
